In the shifter world, one law holds true; you will reap what you sow.

Shae underestimated El Oso, the tyrannical leader of the Order. Now, banished, flightless and living on the dangerous edge of the shifter world, she finds it impossible to pursue her one goal, finding and freeing her father. Without the support of her friends, who are torn by loyalty to their families, Shae is forced to attempt the impossible…alone.

A hidden group of shifters with unexpected powers swoops in to help Shae. They want nothing more than to discover El Oso’s magic and destroy the Order completely, even if it means sacrificing Shae’s father. Too late, Shae discovers she has sown the seeds of destruction for herself and her family. The defenses of her refuge are breached, not by El Oso, but by the enemy very enemy he has been desperate to protect them against. An enemy intent on massacring every known shifter. Shae must find a way to escape her self-inflicted fate and empower her friends to unite if they are to find a way to survive the harvest.

About Melle Amade

USA Today Bestselling Author, Farm Girl, Marketing Director…

Since I was eight I have been writing stories that capture the adventures in my head and the characters strong enough and flawed enough to have them. When I look at an empty field I see a formidable citadel. When I meet a vulnerable old man, I greet an emeritus warrior. When I walk through city streets I feel dimensions hiding around every turn. It has been my lifelong passion to explore these worlds that reveal the pain of loneliness, the joy or self-actualization, and the hope of magic.

I grew up in a place called Potter Valley where the Milky Way is held aloft by a circle of mountains and the central business district consists of a bait store and a saloon. At 19 I moved alone to London and spent the next ten years exploring the world, even becoming an Australian citizen, before I returned to California and found a new home in Los Angeles. My world revolves around my two wee children and my love of travel.

My days are spent in an office overlooking Los Angeles International Airport where I work as a Director of Marketing for a data center technology firm, which wouldn’t make you think I had an MFA in film with an emphasis on writing from Chapman University. However, I also have degrees in visual communications and global communications, which allowed me to work for some of the finest technology firms in the world. In my spare time I have penned six screenplays, four stage plays, an opera libretto, numerous short stories, and five manuscripts for novels. My heart lies with my manuscripts, which are focused on YA and New Adult audiences and range in subject from Vikings in Iceland to Knights Templar in Italy to Aborigine mysticism in Australia to shapeshifters in Los Angeles.

Andromeda's Fall (Shadowcat Nation #1) by Abigail Owen

Heat Rating

I was given Andromeda's Fall for an honest review.

Before I start talking about Andromeda’s Fall, I want to apologize to Abigail Owen for taking so long to get to it, I should have this written and posted months ago.

When Abigail Owen emailed me about reading Andromeda's Fall it was because she saw a review I had written about a Suzanne Wright book, whom we both like. Now that I have read Andromeda's Fall I am kind of thinking that maybe there is some… shoot, I can’t think of the right word I am looking for, I know the word isn’t ‘mentor’ because that implies interaction and assumption on my part. Well, fart monkeys, if the word comes back to my brain before I finish this review I will rewrite this part if not I apologize for my brain fart.

The characters are well thought out and very likable or easy to hate depending on your preference for the douche bag bad guys or the badass good guys. Man, Carstairs were a piece of work and I got that much just from reading about them but when I finally came upon the part with them in the scene I couldn’t help thinking douche bag may be too nice a phrase to use on them. Andromeda, however, is a definite major badass, I really liked when she showed the boys club what she was made when she kicked their asses during her testing. Jaxson keeping his identity a secret was kind of crazy but it did add to the story line and made for some interesting events, and proved his staying power when he refused to let her go. Finally, I have to mention Papa Bear, because I have to say I think he was my favorite character with his over protective attitude that had Jaxson wishing he could crush him like a bug. I thought it was funny when they talked about Andromeda like she wasn’t there, forcing her to remind them that she was right there.

I honestly have nothing negative to say about Andromeda's Fall because even though it has been 2 years since the death of my daughter, I am still struggling with the loss and the issues it has created, and being sucked into a really good book that holds my attention from start to finish (especially when I am home alone) is truly a blessing, so, thank you, Abigail Owen for giving me that brief escape from the sadness and the chaos that comes when I am alone with my own thoughts.

Book Cover Rating
The cover is nice and fit the book.

Book Blurb Rating
The blurb definitely sold me on the book.

Book's Blurb
Andromeda Reynolds is being hunted. After witnessing her mother's violent death at the hands of a pack of wolf shifters, Andie has devoted her life to protecting her community of cougar shifters from a similar fate. But now, a greater threat lies within her own pack, and she must run. If she stays, Kyle Carstairs will force their mating, seeking the added political power their union would provide. Andie would rather chew off her own foot than end up with Kyle. Though, knowing him, she won't live long either way. Andie's only hope of survival is to mate Jaxon Keller, the Alpha of the Keller Dare with which she is seeking asylum. But before she can get to him, Andie must first go through A.J., one of the Alpha's Protectors. What Andie doesn't realize is that A.J. has secrets of his own. All Andie knows is that the incredibly frustrating shifter insists on challenging her story, her skills, her trust… and her heart.
