Teresa Jacinto's review of Wild Fire (Leopard series #4) by Christine Feehan

Mom's rating
Mom's Heat Rating

My Mom has always been a big reader and probably the biggest reason I am such a reader and I have been telling her for months that if she ever wanted to share her opinion of a book I would publish what ever she sent me so here we are with my Mom's first review.

She has been a big fan of Christine Feehan for years and has been trying to get me to check out her books for a long time but as my Mom and I have mostly different taste in books I haven't gotten around to it yet but I will check them out eventually. In the mean time please enjoy her review of Wild Fire.

I have always loved Christine Feehan and all her books. I even have her first book that she wrote, signed by her when I met her in person in Reno, NV. Her Book, Wild Fire, one of her Leopard Series, is the last book I read. It had it all. Intrigue, Suspense, Steamy Sex that had me not wanting to put the book down until the very end. Christine Feehan has a way of weaving all of that in all her books and yes some are better than others. She is one author that I always looked forward to her next book.

Her books take paranormal to a whole new level and would love to see her stories put into movies. Would be very interesting.

The Sheikh's Sinful Seduction (Seven Sexy Sins #2) by Dani Collins

Heat Rating /

The Sheikh's Sinful Seduction was given to me for an honest review by Net Galley

Release Date March 1, 2015

Sheikh Zafir won't let his emotions rule his life except when it comes to his son. While on vacation at the oasis with his sisters family he sees his nieces English tutor and instantly wants her but she is painfully shy and clearly inexperienced then add to that he is fighting an uphill battle in his country because of his linage. But he can't seem to stay away and when he asks for her help only to learn that her lack of experience with men is so profound that she doesn't know how to deal with men.

Fern Davenport is so painfully shy from growing up with a mom who taught her that lust and sex were very bad. So when her friend and boss drags her on vacation where she meets her friends brother and she starts lusting after him she does whatever she can to avoid him but he makes her feel things and she cannot avoid him. When the vacation ends early she finds herself in the same position her mother was in but has very decidedly different feelings on the subject but when Zafir show up in London demanding she marry him she has no clue what she should do.

Dani Collins did a great job of not only making Fern's emotions easily seen on her sleave but you could almost feel the heat from her blushing come of the pages, and I really like her quiet strength and determination when it came to trying to help the poor young girl with appendicitis. I so wanted to kick Zafir in the shin for not manning up in the oasis or even after they left it. It took his brother-in-law giving him the 'you are an ass-hat' treatment to get his head out of his backside and chase the woman he really loves which was one of my favorite parts of The Sheikh's Sinful Seduction.

I am so reading The Sheikh's Sinful Seduction again and again, I just know it. I love how this story goes from sweet to hot and steamy and back again.

Book Cover Rating
I know The Sheikh's Sinful Seduction is a Harlequin Book but and they can do as they wish of course but to be honest I would probably have passed over this book except that the title intrigued me. What I am saying is that little itsy bitsy picture on the cover doesn't do it for me and you can do better.

Book Blurb Rating
The blurb is nothing Earth shattering but it is properly vague except for the very last sentence which definitely tells you how it ends.

Releasing February 24th, 2015

Hockey star Cooper Black and professional party crasher Izzy Maxwell return in this sequel to Crashing the Boards.

Jealous boyfriends and glitzy parties can be a recipe for disaster. When the gorgeous yet controlling Cooper interrupts a party Izzy was paid to crash and almost ruins her career as a professional party
crasher, Izzy kicks him to the curb. She learned early in life not to count on anyone, and she will not relinquish her independence, not even to a sexy-as-sin pro athlete who can melt her with one wink.

As the Sockeyes hockey team opens their inaugural season in Seattle, Cooper finds himself minus a girlfriend and plus a surly teenaged nephew. Cooper doesn’t want to be a surrogate dad, he doesn’t want to play in Seattle, and he doesn’t want to be alone. He misses Izzy, but seeing her with other men at parties turns him every shade of green. Regardless, he wants her back, and he’s willing to change, if only she’ll give him a second chance. Aware of her precarious finances, Cooper makes an offer she can’t refuse by hiring her to be responsible for his nephew when he’s traveling with the team.

Fearing Cooper isn’t capable of changing his control-freak ways, Izzy resists his efforts to turn their financial arrangement into a personal relationship. He needs a sweet, docile girlfriend, and Izzy cannot be that woman. Yet, when tragedy strikes, Izzy is there when Cooper needs her the most, and love has a way of getting what it wants, no matter the circumstances.

“What are you doing here?” Izzy hissed, ever mindful their voices could carry down the hallway to anyone loitering about the ballroom entrance.
“Looking for you,” Cooper growled right back while his gaze raked up and down her body clad in a form-fitting little black dress which revealed a tasteful amount of cleavage and bare thighs.
“Cooper, I told you I had to work tonight.”
He scowled and stepped toward her, backing her up until she hit the wall behind her. He put his big hands on either side of her face and leaned in. “I don’t like you hanging out with all these wealthy businessmen and athletes who’re salivating after you like tomcats on the prowl.”
“You are a wealthy athlete,” she reminded.
“Exactly,” he responded with a grimace.
“It’s just a job.” She stared up into his stormy blue eyes, forcing herself to stay on task and not get lost in those passionate depths.
“I have more than enough money to support you while you go back to school. You don’t need to do this job.”
“I love my job.” Izzy shook her head. She would never be dependent on anyone. After all, when you couldn’t trust your own parents to provide the bare minimum basics of food and shelter, why would you set yourself up to depend on anyone else?
“I don’t.” He glared down at her, his strong jaw set and his kissable mouth drawn in a firm line. If she kissed him right now, he’d forget about everything and the situation would be defused. Until next time. She gathered her strength and did what she had to do. For herself, her sanity, and her business.
“You, buster—” she jabbed her finger in his hard chest. “Do not get a vote.”
He ground his jaw. She cringed at the thought of what that’d do to his implants if he kept it up.
“Cooper, please—”
“This isn’t working. I can’t live like this, not knowing where you are and what you’re doing.”
“You know where I am. I tell you what parties we’re crashing.”
“Yeah, but I worry about you.” Concern softened the anger in his eyes, but judging by his clenched fists, it still bubbled beneath the surface even as he fought to control it.
“There’s nothing to worry about.” Izzy sighed. She wouldn’t quit this job. Number one, she loved it. Number two, it supported her three younger sisters and their college tuitions. Number three, Cooper would not take away her ability to control her present or future.
“You don’t know these people.”
“I don’t have to know them. It’s not like I’m going to establish a relationship with any of them.”
“You did with me.” He pointed out the fact that they’d met at a party her company, the Party Crashers, had been hired to crash over a month ago.
“That was the only time that happened.” She lifted her head and glared at him. “Is that what this is all about? You don’t trust me?”
A muscle ticked in Cooper’s square, stubbled jaw, and his face hardened to stone. That was all the answer she needed.

Desire the Night by Amanda Ashley

Heat Rating

I was given Desire the Night for and honest review by Manic Readers

Kiya (Kay) wishes she could be free of her pack obligations but her controlling father has plans to marry her off to a man even worse than him. She convinces her father to allow her a year of freedom away from the pack. When her friend convinces her to go out and live a little everything goes horribly wrong or wonderfully right depending of perspective.

The vampire Gideon has spent three years locked in silver chains and stashed dungeon after being tricked by an evil witch. The witch wants his blood to keep her young and it doesn't hurt that it is making rich selling to her friends. When Kiya is tossed in the cell to be his next meal he quickly discovers she is no ordinary female and together they contrive a plan of escape.

But freedom for Kiya isn't freedom at all, she is in-love with her vampire but her father, her betrothed, Victor, and the witch have other plans for the couple and every where they turn someone is there the taker her away and imprison him.

I have read two of Amanda Ashley's other books and genuinely loved them (I have read them multiple times) so I was excited to read Desire the Night, only to be a bit disappointed that the story was just an ok read. I couldn't get into the first two chapters, they were too slow but thankfully the further I read the better the story got. The characters are all well written and I could really sense Kiya's mom's unhappiness and but I think that the passion between Kiya and Gideon was a bit sedated although you could really see the bond forming between them. Will I ever read this book again? I kind of don't think so because I just was bored through about thirty percent of it.
